“A photograph can be an instant of life captured for eternity that will never cease looking back at you.”
I am a freelance event photographer based in London, UK.
After moving to London in 2006 I worked as a graphic designer for several event production companies and also tried my hand as a 3D visualizer for events.
I hadn’t started out intending to be a photographer, it was just a hobby, but one that I was growing to love more and more, until it grew into the desire to immerse myself in the world of photography and make it my profession.
I like to capture life, live action, real emotions and precious unique moments. It’s all about people – people are truly inspiring, life is precious.
My biggest sources of inspiration and the key to my photographic style is art and cinema. I have a degree in Art History and Theory and I am also a graphic artist. Both of those have enriched my feeling of composition and light, which helps me to press the button at the right moment. With my love for cinema I learned a lot from great film directors, cinematographers and movie-stills photographers.
I aim to capture joy and happiness and then preserve it for a long time – in the same way that art and movies do.
“Maria doesn’t just take a photograph, her work is a recording of life’s precious moments. She is a natural at capturing the essence of a person or an event. The photographer Ansel Adams said, “A good photograph is knowing where to stand.”
Maria always knows where to stand. She is always in the right place at the right time.”
“Maria has always done such a beautiful piece of work at each of our events she has been involved with. She portraits the inner soul and personality of people, she tells stories with her images and she captures the most magical moments with both her camera and her heart. Her art is alive and interactive… You will be immersed in her photos like you’re sank in the deepest ocean!”
